Life Connections
Bringing Baby Home & Beyond
Workshop Section Descriptions

The Bringing Baby Home
Program is the only one
of its kind in the world geared toward helping expecting
parents and parents of infants and toddlers create a strong
foundation for their family to thrive.

Research based and tested;
the concepts presented in BBH
are not based upon theory, but on what families have revealed
about what works and what doesn’t work.
Since 1972
Dr. John Gottman’s team has gathered information on
over 3000 partners and have followed most of them
for 12 years or longer.

It is a fun comprehensive program combining discussion,
role playing, journaling, videos, and other techniques. Everyone
is free to participate as much as they choose.

"In relationships you need a habit of mind that scans the world for things to appreciate rather than things to criticize." -
Dr. John Gottman

This presentation is based upon Dr. John Gottman’s New York Times Bestseller, “The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work” and his new book, “10 Lessons to Transform Your Marriage”. This presentation draws upon three plus decades of intensive research on happy as well as distressed partners. Learn what partners can do to enhance family dynamics. These straight forward and profound principles teach partners new strategies for making their relationship work. Gottman’s team followed couples from the newlywed period to the transition into retirement. They have gathered information on over 3,000 couples and have followed most couples for 12 years or longer. The concepts presented here are not based upon personal wisdom or on any one philosophical point of view, but rather on what these partners have revealed about what works and doesn’t work to keep a relationship stable and happy. Learn how to strengthen friendship and intimacy, and conflict resolution skills.

This workshop was designed by the Gottman Relationship Research Institute, based on cutting edge research of over 3000 families for 12 years or more, it provides information that reflects what works for real people.

Their research (in part) shows that:

· Affection and respect are an important basis for friendship, and friendship is the strong foundation for passion and romance in relationships.

· The new strategies & insightful tools in this class can be used to make small changes in your relationship, which can, over time, create big improvements and a strong family base for you and your children to thrive.

· The small everyday moments, when people connect, are the building blocks of all relationships.
